On Sunday evening, November 20, 2016, the JCC sponsored a workshop for Washington Heights residents on “Understanding Your Health Care Options,” given by Toby Weiss and Miryam Rabner of MJHS Hospice and Palliative Care. They discussed the importance of having documents, such as a health care proxy and a living will, in the event that anyone were to become ill and not able to participate in making health care decisions. The participants came away with valuable information which will guide them in thinking about and planning for the future.

Freshly cooked Shabbat meals are delivered to seniors’ homes every Friday by our dedicated volunteer Steve Wachtel. The JCC-WHI’s weekend meals program ensures that these seniors avoid malnutrition, while also keeping them connected to tradition.
The JCC was so happy to be joined by volunteers as we delivered Mishloach Manot to our local Seniors! The Mishloach Manot were donated by Or Olam Women's League, Yeshiva University, and Mount Sinai Shul. All of our Seniors enjoyed the wonderful treats! Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers!!!
